Talent Show
Coláiste Chraobh Abhann is excited to reveal news of a star-studded event coming to the school very soon! We will be holding auditions for our Talent Show on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th March during the school day. Categories include music, dance, gymnastics, comedy, poetry, drama, magic, sports tricks, etc. Students can enter individually or in a group. We are encouraging as many students as possible to take part in the auditions.
Leinster Cross Country
Massive well done to our 4 cross country runners, Dillon Hunt, Aoibhinn Keating, Oscar Durston and Sean Lundy, who took part in the Irish Life Health Leinster Championships in Santry during the week. Each student put in a superb effort in horrible conditions, well done all.
Junior Hurling Blitz
Our First and Second Year hurlers had a great day out in the Craanford GAA complex in Wexford where they participated in a County Wicklow Blitz. CCA was represented by three teams on the day and they performed well in all or their matches. CCA would like to pay a huge thanks to sponsors Warren Kavanagh, Declan Barron and Craanford GAA for the event. Well done to all our hurlers for a great day out.
Classical Studies
As part of their Classical Studies module, 4GDY studied the origin and history of mosaics. They learned about how they were made, including the various tools used to create them, as well as their role in symbolising wealth. They looked at some famous examples which portrayed historical events such as the Alexander mosaic originally from the House of the Faun in Pompeii. The students ended this module by creating some of their own designs. Well done to all students on their wonderful creativity!
Student Led Assembly
Last Friday we had an exciting start to the day with 5AKE’s student-led assembly. The group, led by their class captains, showcased their singing, juggling and public speaking skills to the delight of their peers. Well done to all!
