Parents Council Sponsored Walk
On Wednesday we held our Parents’ Council Junior Students Sponsored walk. A beautiful morning was spent close to the nearby sea, allowing us to enjoy some fresh air and each other’s company. Thanks to our Parents’ Council for organising a well-run and fun morning. All funds raised by our students will be reinvested into activities for our student body.
Dressage
Congratulations to our Transition Year student, Samara-Anne Mulder, who took part in the Dressage Ireland National Competition in Co. Wexford over the weekend. Samara was selected to represent the Eastern Region in the under 25s Squad in the competition. After a week of hard preparation and two days of gruelling contests, Samara placed 6th in all of Ireland for the Junior Elementary class. This is an amazing achievement and we are all so proud of Samara!
Cross Country
Well done to our Cross Country team who competed in the Wicklow Relays in Avondale this week. There were fantastic performances from each of our athletes and congratulations to those who brought home medals. Big shoutout to our 1st year boys & girls who represented CCA for the first time.
Open Evening in CCA:
One of the highlights of our school year is always CCA's open evening. An evening where our school community takes great pride in showcasing our fantastic facilities and provides an opportunity for prospective students, past pupils and the local community to meet our fantastic teaching team and students.
It is an evening where we inform you of what CCA has to offer, supporting students as they grow and mature in a community that lives its mission statement, "striving for Educational Excellence" and "believing in Mutual Respect". This year we were delighted to welcome back our community to our fantastic school. Well done to all and we hope you get a flavour of why CCA is the school of choice in the area.
TY Motivational Workshop
TY students took part in a motivational workshop today. Stephen Kiernan, author of Brilliant Mondays, delivered a powerful message to believe in yourself and your ability to achieve whatever goals you set, with planning, resilience and continuous development. Students listened to examples of how ordinary people achieve extraordinary things. We are looking forward to seeing each of our students reach their goals in the future.
Second Year Girls Football
Well done to the Second Year girl footballers who took part in a blitz in Ballinakill on Thursday. The girls demonstrated fantastic skill and teamwork throughout all their games. Training for all age groups continues on Tuesdays after school.
TY Bonding Trip
Last week our TY students travelled to Baltinglass Outdoor Education Centre. They faced their fears in the water, on the climbing wall and on the zip-line. Students also participated in orienteering and archery. Many thanks to Paul and his staff for this fantastic bonding experience in a beautiful setting and excellent facilities.
