LCVP INTERVIEWS

Well done to all the 6th Year LCVP students who each recorded a three minute interview about what they have learned during this course.  Each student made a presentation about their work and what they have gained from doing LCVP.

ARKLOW MUSIC FESTIVAL

Huge congratulations to Anna Mudzieweska who came second in the Arklow Music Festival for her recitation of a poem by Robert Frost.  Well done also to Oscar Hancock and Claire Greene who represented the school at the festival.

SEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE

Bhí gach duine ag caint as Gaeilge for our annual Seachtain na Gaeilge.  The school celebrates this annual event with competitions and lots of Irish visible and audible on our corridors.

OISIN I DTIR NA NOG

Well done also to the third class students from Newtownmountkennedy Primary school who put on a wonderful performance of ‘Oisin i dTír na nÓG’ with the help of our Transition Year students as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge.  TY students played the music and produced the play, which was a huge success.  Thanks to Ms Geoghan and her students for their huge effort.  All of the primary school participants received certificates and prizes.

IRISH DANCING

Ms Gargan and Ms Armstrong also visited Newtownmountkennedy Primary school last week to teach Fifth class Irish dancing as part of Seachtain Na Gaeilge.  Six of our Irish dancers will perform a display for the primary school students this week, also as part of Seachtain Na Gaeilge celebrations.

GERMAN EXCHANGE

We are delighted to welcome teachers and students from Wurzburg, Germany, on their exchange programme to Coláiste Chraobh Abhann this week. Students and teachers will visit Glendalough, take part in our ‘stay awake’ fundraiser at the school, visit Dublin and take part in activities with their host families.

INCOMING FIRST YEAR INTERVIEWS

Our incoming First year students had a chance to meet teachers and find out more about our school during their interviews, conducted by teachers at CCA last week.  Each student and their parents discussed their interests and talents and activities they would like to pursue at Coláiste Chraobh Abhann when they start in September.  Many thanks to the teachers who carried out the interviews for their work.
