WELL DONE

Well done to Troy Scully in first year who has had a very successful time on the athletics field recently.  He finished in fourth place in the East Leinster Cross Country schools race and qualified for the Leinster finals in Santry Demesne, where he finished 23rd out of 128 runners and only missed out by eight places for the All-Ireland schools finals.  More recently, Troy ran in the u15 2500m National Development Cross Country race, finishing in the top 12 and collecting a national bronze medal for his efforts with his club, Greystones Athletic Club.  Congratulations Troy!

SENIOR CYCLE SUBJECT OPTIONS SHOWCASE

Senior students at CCA put on a very informative and enjoyable event last Wednesday to showcase the range of subject options available for the Leaving Certificate cycle.  Third and Transition year students browsed different stands manned by students of each subject, viewing project work and asking questions about the different subjects.  Many thanks to the LCVP students for their work in preparing the event, and to Mr. Farrell and Mr. Hughes for their support.

SENIOR CYCLE OPTIONS INFORMATION NIGHT

Many thanks to the parents and guardians of our Third and Transition Year students who attended our Senior Cycle Options Information night, on Thursday 27th February.  The evening comprised of presentations about Transition Year, the traditional Leaving Certificate, the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme and the Leaving Certificate Applied programme, as well as information about the expected outcomes and career and further study options of each of the programmes.

INCOMING FIRST YEAR INTERVIEWS

We look forward to meeting our incoming First years on Wednesday 5th March for their individual interviews.  These interviews are a crucial early step in our integration of First years into the school.  The students will be asked about their extra-curricular interests and any questions or concerns they might have can be raised.  It is another great opportunity for them to take in the school atmosphere and become comfortable in what will be their new school environment.

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT MEETING

A meeting of the CCA board of management took place on Monday 3rd March at the school.  We would like to thank all the members of our board for their continued work and support of our school.
