WELL DONE   

Well done to Luke Byrne in Transition Year who appeared on last Friday’s Late Late Show demonstrating his product, ‘Headphone Helpers’.  The show were doing a feature on up and coming entrepreneurs and innovative new inventions and Luke was given the opportunity to demonstrate his product on Ryan Tubridy.  This is a massive achievement for Luke as all other businesses featured were from very experienced entrepreneurs. 

ATHLETICS SUCCESS

Well done to Troy Scully in third year who came 5th in a recent race.  He now qualifies for the Leinster Athletics Championship.

MOCK EXAMS

Our third and sixth year students will start their mock exams next Tuesday February 2nd.  The exams will take place over two weeks, up to the start of the February mid-term break.  We wish our exam students the best of luck.

5TH YEAR PARENT-TEACHER-STUDENT MEETING

We look forward to welcoming all fifth year students and their parents and guardians to the PTS meeting on Thursday 28th January. Students are starting to look at their options for third level, and set targets for sixth year.   All fifth year students will have a meeting with their mentor teacher to discuss their third level aspirations as part of the evening.  Classes for all students will finish at 3.30pm to facilitate this meeting. 

ENTRANCE ASSESSMENTS FOR INCOMING FIRST YEARS

We look forward to welcoming our incoming first years for their entrance assessments at CCA on Saturday 30th January.  The morning is an important further step to introducing our prospective first years to their new school.  

FOOTBALL FITNESS TRAINING

Minor football fitness training for Kilcoole / Roundwood / Newtown group takes place every Thursday from 8 – 9pm.  The training will be held in Shoreline Charlesland using the running track and outdoor gym equipment.  The training is suitable for all players not training with other teams.  The cost is €2 per session and will run for 6 weeks. 

CCA SCHOOL MUSICAL

The cast and crew of this year’s CCA musical are hard at work rehearsing for the show, which takes place in March. Please contact the Mermaid Arts Centre to enquire about tickets on (01) 272 4030 for the show, which will run from Wednesday 9th to Friday 11th March inclusive.
