STUDENT / STAFF SOCCER MATCH

Well done to Conor Clack in sixth year and his team who organised the recent student –v- staff soccer match in aid of Wicklow Cancer Support.  The event was a huge success, raising over €1000 for the worthwhile charity.

STUDENTS GO ORANGE FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Many thanks to class 6KRE and the Student Council who organised the recent non-uniform day to raise awareness for mental health.  The slogan of the day was ‘It’s okay not to be ok, and it’s absolutely ok to ask for help.’  The students held a bake sale, had nail and face painting on the day.  Well done to all involved!

CREATIVE DRAGONS DEN

14 of CCAs best entrepreneurs were guests at IADT for their Creative Dragons Den recently.  This was an event where their undergrad and postgrad students pitched their businesses to a panel of Dragons which included RTE's Dragon Sean Gallagher.  The students received a tour of the college and advice on their own businesses and pitches.

SPONSORED CYCLE

Well done to the 25 students who took part in last week’s training cycle to Bray and back to Kilcoole.  It was a very enjoyable day for everyone involved and not even the couple of punctures could deflate the spirits of the students who cycled very well.  The next training cycle is on Wednesday April 5th.  All those hoping to take part in the 50km sponsored cycle at the end of April must take part in these training cycles.  Many thanks to Mr Evoy, Mr Ryan and Mr Sweeney who accompanied the students.

FIRST YEAR SOCCER

Well done to the First Year Girls Soccer team who beat Loreto Bray in a recent match on a scoreline of 3-1.  It was a brilliant team effort, with Laragh Davis, Taylor Brandon and Chloe Byrne scoring the vital goals for CCA.  Player of the match was Alyssia Larkin who was superb throughout the game.
