FIRST YEAR GIRLS GAELIC
Congratulations to the 1st Year Girls Gaelic football team who started off their campaign in style last week in Ballinakill, coming home undefeated in all 4 of their group matches. The girls showed great drive and ambition to beat Baltinglass, St. Kevins, Dominican College and Coláiste Ráithín and have now progressed to the A semi-final and final next Thursday. A real team performance throughout the day with all the girls making a big impact over the course of the 4 matches. The team on the day were: Chloe Byrne, Taylor Brandon, Ciara McLeavey, Kiera McNamee, Katie McKenna, Alyssia Larkin, Erin Brady, Laragh Davis, Aisling Goff, Emma Fortune, Sile Dillon, Lucy Toomey and Rebecca Gillan.
Well done to the students who took part in the Brother East Leinster School Cross Country Invitational in Santry last Wednesday. In the Minor Girls category, Eve Leacy came 4th out of approximately 150 runners, Rayna Byrne was in the top 30 and Emma Hunt was in the top 50. In the Minor Boys, Sean Lundy was in the top 50 out of 150. Sarah Hayes was in the top 40 out of 100 in the Intermediate Girls, while Colm Flynn was in the top 50 out of 100. In the Senior Boys category, Troy Scully came in 18th out of 100, beating two peers who had previously beaten him in the All-Ireland last year.
ANNUAL SPONSORED WALK
Well done to our staff and students who took part in the annual sponsored 10km walk/run/activity day on Wednesday, 5th October. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day. We would like to say thanks to staff and members of the Parents Council for all their help in facilitating the day. All students are reminded to bring in their sponsorship cards and money to their class tutor.
Best wishes to all our Transition Year students who will be taking part in two weeks’ work experience from Monday October 17th. We wish them well and hope they gain some insightful experience into the world of work.
PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT
There will be an Information Night for all parents and guardians of sixth year students on Wednesday October 19th at 7.30p.m. This meeting is being held to give parents information regarding careers and college placements, while also informing them about the CAO process.
PARENT TEACHER MEETING
The Parent/Teacher/Student meeting for third year students will take place tomorrow, Thursday October 13th from 4.15p.m. to 6.45p.m. All students and their parents or guardians are encouraged to attend. Classes for students will finish at 3.30p.m.
