12 ANGRY JURORS

Congratulations to all the CCA Players’ cast who staged a wonderful production of 12 Angry Jurors in The Castle Inn Theatre over three nights last week. The play was a modern adaptation of the Reginald Rose play 12 Angry Men which was made famous by the 1957 film starring Henry Fonda and Lee J. Cobb.

The audiences for each night were thoroughly entertained, enjoying the outstanding acting of Rachel Crimes, Yvonne Kavanagh, Reme Atiyota, Marc Brady, Glenda Tigirigi, Matthew Byrne, Ciarán Fox, Ódhran Wall, Colm Flynn, Erika Bellamy, Lars Schwarz, Lucien Aurich, Ryan  Noronha Brennan, Patrick Doyle, Jenitta Jimmy and Natalia Winkel who are TY, 5th and 6th Year students. Backstage and front of house was supported by Ciarán Crimes, Orla Enright Quigley, Maggie May Ryan and lighting was by Victor Cahill.

This was the 10th production by the CCA Players with previous productions including One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Shadow of a Gunman and The Beauty Queen of Leenane.

The play was directed by English teachers Sharon Hennessy and Seán Ó Súilleabháin, who said that they were very proud of all the actors and crew who had been preparing this technically challenging production since last September, and who managed to achieve such a high level of emotional integrity and tension in each performance.

Thanks to Ben and all the staff of The Castle Inn Theatre for all their support and to every teacher and student who assisted with the show.
