Important Notice for First Year Entrants 2017-2018
Apple has recently made some important changes which have impacted on the management and deployment of iPads. Going forward, the school’s iPad partner Wriggle need to utilise more sophisticated methodologies to help the school comply with pending data protection legislation and to use the ‘Apple Classroom’ App for classroom management of the device. This will allow the Digital Learning Programme to move in a very positive direction and further enhance the benefits it can offer to both students and teachers.
These changes, however, mean that from a technical perspective devices purchased outside of the Wriggle Store will not be part of the scheme. Wriggle has always worked with schools and parents to allow students to 'bring their own device (BYOD)' if they already had a suitable iPad. Unfortunately, Wriggle will not be able to offer this option in future and a ‘BYOD' option will not appear on their Online Store.
Parents of incoming first years are being informed of this in case they plan to purchase a device for Christmas or for any other occasion prior to the commencement of the new academic year. Wriggle will host an information evening in February 2017 to provide parents with more information and to answer any questions they may have.
