6th December

Our 1st and 2nd year hurlers participated in a county schools blitz at Bray Emmets last Wednesday.  Conditions were very cold but dry and our players played with great effort and commitment.  Man of the match for us was Marwan Machaalani who was a stalwart in our defence.  The panel was: Thomas Moorehouse, Matthew Byrne, Marwan Machaalani, Brian Short, Dylan Doyle, Adam Heffernan, Leo Hanney, Glen Dunne, Conor Odlum, Oisín Curry and Troy Scully.

Senior boys’ soccer team were unlucky to lose in their recent match against Presentation College, Bray on a scoreline of 6-3. They put up a good fight right until the end and can be very proud of their efforts.  Their coach, Mr Rice, would like to recognize the fantastic service which many of the senior team members have given to school teams over the years, as for many of them that was their last school match.  Thanks lads.

Many thanks to our staff and students who have made some very generous donations to the St. Vincent de Paul hamper appeal.  The hampers will be collected from the school on Friday December 13th.

Many thanks to the parents and students who attended our parent-teacher-student meeting for second year students last Thursday. It was a great opportunity for parents and guardians of our Second year students to meet teachers, along with students, to discuss their academic and personal progress at school. The parent-teacher-student format allows for the student to take an active part in discussions about their studies and progress at school, and allows them to take personal responsibility for their actions and to plan their progress together with their parents and teachers.

Students will commence their Christmas exams on Monday next, 16th December. The exams will finish on Friday, in advance of the annual Christmas carol service. We wish all our students the best of luck in these exams.
