The next few weeks are a busy time of year at Coláiste Chraobh Abhann, with many important end-of-year events taking place, including on Friday 20th May, the annual Junior and Senior Prize giving ceremonies. The whole school community and invited guests will take time to recognise the hard work and great efforts of our students. Senior and junior students are recognised for their contributions to the school and our community in a wide variety of prizes, including academic, sporting, leadership, entrepreneurship, civic, cultural, musical and artistic categories. Students will be awarded academic prizes in each subject area, with a number of Sixth year students receiving perpetual awards for subjects studied in their Leaving Certificate year. Sporting awards will cover many team and individual efforts from camogie, soccer and hurling to basketball and athletics.

A group of our TY students enjoyed a unique cultural experience last week as they travelled to Wurzburg, Germany, with two of their teachers, to visit our partner school, the Riemenschneider Gymnasium. Students spent time with their German counterparts, attending school and also visiting Wurzburg and its surrounding area on this social and cultural exchange. The German teachers and students visited our school last term. Many thanks to Mr Kennedy and Ms Buckley for their work in coordinating the exchange and accompanying the students on the trip.

Students are revising and preparing for the end of year house examinations, which will start on Monday 30th May. We wish all our 1st, 2nd, TY and 5th year students well in their exams. Thanks to them and their teachers for their hard work this term and throughout the year.
