Well done to Áine Molloy and Sinéad Jordan who have qualified for the Eastern Region final of the Junk Kouture competition.  The dress, aptly named ‘The T ParTEA’ was constructed with used tea bags and coffee filters.  The tea leaves were removed from the dried tea bags, then the bags were bleached and dyed with fabric dyes to create the amazing colours seen in the dress.  Each tea bag was hand stitched onto the dress to create a floral look.  The girls were chosen from over 1000 entries to be part of the final 80 entries and go forward to the Helix in March.

Many thanks to the parents and guardians who attended the Senior Cycle Options Information Night last Thursday.  The importance of making the correct choice for Senior Cycle makes this a key event in the school calendar.  Parents had the opportunity to ask questions about the different options available to students and inform themselves fully of the different programmes of Leaving Certificate preparation.

The interviews for incoming first year students will take place on Wednesday March 1st from 1.45p.m. to 3.45p.m.  This forms part of their transition to first year in September.  The prospective students have the chance to talk about their extra-curricular interests and help staff get to know them better in advance of next year.

The cast and crew of this year’s CCA musical are hard at work rehearsing for the show, which takes place in March. Please contact the Mermaid Arts Centre to enquire about tickets on (01) 272 4030 for the show, which will run from Wednesday March 8th to Friday March 10th inclusive.
