Arts Week is taking place in the school this week, with each practical subject taking a day of the week to display their finest practical work – Monday is Music, Tuesday is Art, Wednesday is Woodwork, Thursday is Metalwork and Friday is Home Economics. Each subject area had a display of best practice from both junior and leaving cert students. Many thanks to all the students for all their hard work in relation to this event and the teachers who helped with the displays.
Best wishes to Conor Rubalcava, Callum Rea and Conor Doyle who will be playing in the Metro A U19 final in Donnybrook Stadium on April 29th against Clontarf, following a recent victory over Portlaoise, finishing on a scoreline of 49-5.
GLOBAL ISSUES COMPETITION
Well done to all the first year students who entered the competition during Global Issues fortnight to raise awareness of poverty and inequality. The entries were excellent and after much consideration, the top three entries were: 1st – Katelyn Coster; 2nd – Jack Wolohan and Charlie Sullivan; 3rd – Amber Doyle.
The 121 Digital Programme finished in the school last week with a performance from the first year Music class and the Transition Year Ukelele class. Transition Year students have spent many weeks teaching technology to members of the local community. Well done to all involved.
