Congratulations to the Girls’ Senior Football team who beat St. Killian’s last Wednesday in the Senior B semi-final. There were great performances from all involved, with all eighteen members of the panel contributing to the win. There were standout performances from Róisín Belton and Katie Murray in the backs, as well as Rachel Carthy and Kerryanne Hamilton who worked tirelessly in midfield. The girls are now looking forward to their upcoming County B final.

Thanks to all the students and parents who attended the information options night on Tuesday the 20th of February in CCA.  Teachers from each department spoke and presented their subject to the 3rd year and TY students who are currently considering their options for the Leaving Cert Cycle.

Both parents and students alike found this new initiative to be of great benefit in helping them understand the course content, break-down of points, and helping them gain a clearer insight into what subject and level to choose for September.

This year 3 groups of students from Coláiste Chraobh Abhann entered the Junk Kouture recycled fashion competition along with 1530 others from all over Ireland.

Out of these 1533, only 395 designs make it through to the regional finals.

TY students Michaela Smith McGarry and Kelianne Coughlan were absolutely delighted when they heard that their entry ‘My Fair Phoenix’ is one of these 395 designs through to the Regional Final!

They will present their dress design to the judges at the East Regional Final in The Helix theatre, DCU on 5th March. The girls will spend the day at the Helix where they will meet the judges, rehearse their performance on the catwalk before taking part in a fashion show that night.  This will begin at 7pm – Tickets can be purchased from the Helix directly. Successful designs on the night will go on to the National Final in the 3 Arena in April.   We would like to congratulate Michaela and Kelianne on getting this far and wish them the very best of luck!

Well done to all the 1st and 2nd Year students who took part in Scifest@CCA on Wednesday the 21st of February. There were over one hundred projects and over two hundred students involved who presented in the Sports Hall of CCA. A number of judges, including past students who are currently studying for their PHD in Science, discussed the projects with the students, grading them on content, knowledge, research and presentation.

Congratulations to the student Alex Adderly O’Brien who won first prize in the 1st Year category and to Alice Cash and Kayleigh Clements who took first prize in Second Year. The winners of each category will now enter Scifest@College.
