It’s 1827 Edinburgh. Two Irishmen, William Burke and William Hare are struggling to find work in a city ravished by poverty and disease. When they hear that the respected anatomical lecturer Dr. Knox is willing to pay handsomely for fresh bodies, they turn to desperate measures to secure the reward.
Coláiste Chraobh Abhann Payers presents the premier production of the play Burke and Hare by Seán Ó Súilleabháin. Based on a true story, the dark tale of William Burke and William Hare gives us a frightening insight into the world of the grave-robber and the mind of the serial killer. Running for three nights in the Knight’s Theatre, Newcastle, Co Wicklow, from the 16th - 18th of April 2013.
