On Tuesday 24th November, CCA hosted its next session of the Teaching & Learning Club. This session was based on the Magenta Principles programme, an active-learning course which helps teachers to create a more student-centred learning environment. The principles that were explored included Sequence, Replace and Change. Ms. Page took us through the principle of sequencing and the benefits of students putting concepts in order. Mr. Kenny explored the principle of replacing or substituting keywords so that students are encouraged to articulate definitions using their own words. Lastly, Ms. Nolan took us through the principle of students changing information into alternative formats, thereby embedding student knowledge and understanding more deeply.
