5th Year History Trip
The 5th Year History class attended the National Library of Ireland for a talk on the sources available which will aid the completion for their Leaving Cert Research Study Report. They were afforded the opportunity to visit the Yeats Exhibition and view the newly updated Lego reconstruction of the National Library . The students had an opportunity to finalise their readers cards which will allow access for three years which will potentially be of great benefit for their RSR and undertaking their third level educational path. The class then visited the National History Museum to inspire RSR topics ranging from the Largan Longboats to The Bogman. (Few images attached above )The History class will attend a visit of Dáil Éireann with Simon Harris on the 14th March.
Girls Basketball
Well done to the 1st and 2nd year basketball teams that travelled to Coláiste Chill Mhantáin on Friday. The games were very close with CCA eventual winners of both. 1st years came out on top on a score of 19-14 with great performances across the board. The 2nd years had a hard fought battle with the score finishing 30-26 with 24 of our points from Emma Surmova.
Student of the Month Awards
This special CCA initiative has been a focus of our schools approach to promoting the holistic development of each student. The students who received the awards have excelled in all areas of school life during the past month. Well done to award winners!
Athletics
Well done to Aoibhinn Keating who competed in the Leinster Cross Country Championships in Santry Demesne this week.
CCA Showstoppers
Congratulations to our 22 Acts, including 67 finalists, who have made it through the auditions process and will be centre stage in our annual Showstoppers Talent Show on March 15th. Rehearsals are well underway for what promises to be another fantastic show! Well done to all involved! Keep an eye out for ticket information.
Wicklow Enterprise Finals
Congratulations to the two first year mini companies The Sugar Shack and Scented Snowmen who have been selected to represent CCA in the Junior Wicklow County Enterprise Finals. We also have four TY mini companies; AB Crystals, Fragrance Friends, Wind Chymes and Things and Artefact Colouring who have been selected for the Senior County Final in March. They have been busy working on their business plans and presentations in preparation for the final. Well done to all!
