Gaisce Adventure Journey
This week 39 TY students completed a two day adventure journey through the Wicklow mountains as part of their GAISCE Bronze Award. Having completed their three challenge areas over the course of the year, this was the final component of the award. Students began with a walk around Glendalough, before joining The Wicklow Way, hiking up over Scarr Mountain and finishing Day 1 at Lough Dan. Students camped overnight at Lough Dan Scout Centre before taking on a hike around Lough Dan on Day 2, completing 24kms over the two days. The Gaisce Award is described as a challenge for young people and we are extremely proud of these students who persevered to complete the challenge. Well done to all!
Leinster Schools Athletics
Well done to Amber Scully who came 4th in the 1500m Steeplechase at the Leinster Schools Championships held in Tullamore today. It was a great performance by Amber who narrowly missed out on qualification for the All Irelands.
Sport Ireland LCPE Trip
Our 4th and 5th Year LCPE students visited the Sports Ireland Campus for a day of fitness testing & activities tailored towards the LCPE program. The day proved to be a very valuable and informative experience for the students. Thanks to all in the Sport Ireland Campus for facilitating such a great day.
