Along with students and staff from Slovenia, this Erasmus week long exchange of ideas promoting sustainability and enterprise in each country will culminate during the week of 9th – 14th May 2022 when CCA will host both countries. A total of 12 of our students and 4 teachers are participating in the excellent programme.
Walk for Water
Our CCA students were lucky enough to be selected to take part in the Green Schools “Walk for Water” event in order to raise awareness about water scarcity in developing countries. On Wednesday, on a gloriously sunny day, the students walked 6 kilometres on the Glendalough trail while carrying up to 6 litres of water. What a wonderful achievement for a very important cause! Well done to all involved and thanks to Ms. Byrne and Ms. O’ Gara for accompanying the students.

On Monday we celebrated with staff and students of 1st year wearing colourful and odd socks. First Year student Susannah Cullen also addressed her peers on the day at assembly. well done Susannah and all that got involved on the day.

One Good School
In CCA we are committed to adopting a whole-school approach to promoting and supporting youth mental health and wellbeing. We are very excited to announce our partnership with Jigsaw and the One Good School programme. Jigsaw are a mental health organisation, who provide services, advice and support to young people aged 12-25. CCA, with Jigsaw, are implementing an initiative that will provide strategies and activities to support and achieve positive mental health outcomes for our school. We want to represent the views of the whole-school community, and to ensure that all voices are heard. In the roll-out of One Good School we will be asking you to complete a survey to share your perspectives with us. Please watch our school social media and school app to access your survey next week. We look forward to working with the whole school community in achieving better mental health outcomes for our students and the wider community.
