Junior Girls Basketball
Hard luck to the 1st and 2nd year girls that lost out to East Glendalough in their first basketball games of the year. The 2nd year game was very close with the girls just falling behind by two baskets in the final quarter. Emma Surmova and Sophie McGuinness were very influential in this close match. Best of luck to the girls next week as they go on to play CCM.
Athletics
Well done to all our athletes who competed in the East Leinster Cross Country event held in Phoenix Park. Special mention goes to Lara Lawlor who finished 1st in the Minor Girls B race, Jake McKenna who finished 1st in the Minor Boys B race, Enda Leacy who finished 1st in Junior Boys B race, Aoibhinn Keating who qualified through to the Leinster Championship and to our Minor Girls team of Lara Lawlor, Ciara Keating, Sophia Parker and Rosie Colleran who finished 2nd in their team event. Well done to all!
TY Drumming Workshop
On Thursday and Friday, TY students took part in drumming workshops facilitated by Neil from Drum Nature Students learned all about drumming techniques and traditional West African drumming, with focus on the experience of playing traditional African rhythms as well as some background into the origin and history of the music and instruments.
Student of the Month Awards
This special CCA initiative has been a focus of our schools approach to promoting the holistic development of each student. The students who received the awards have excelled in all areas of school life during the past month. Well done to award winners!
CCA Showstoppers
Preparations are well underway for our annual Talent Show. This week we had over 120 students audition with a wide range of talents from acrobatics to acapella and everything in between. This show is shaping up to be another amazing CCA event on March 15th. Finalists will be announced next week. Good luck everyone!
