Student Teacher Basketball Match

Our teaching staff and 6th year students joined together on Wednesday for an entertaining game of basketball. With a variety of mixed teams displaying their skills the final quarter was intense and competitive as the experienced and highly skilled staff team faced tough opposition. A great morning was had by all with the game ending in a draw which all present agreed was a fair result. Well done to everyone involved.

Leaving Cert Orals

Our staff and students have been busy with the final preparations for the Leaving Cert oral exams starting on Saturday. Our school community would like to wish the very best of luck to all students in the coming days.

Wicklow Schools Athletics Championship

Congratulations to all our athletes who took part in the Wicklow Track & Field Championships on Wednesday. In what was a very competitive and enjoyable event our excellent team were rewarded in many events. Well done to all athletes today on representing themselves and the school so well.

Parents' Council Clothes Collection

Our Parents’ Council at CCA have arranged a clothes drop to help you clean out those wardrobes as part of your spring clean! They are looking for unwanted clothing, curtains, bedding (except pillows or duvets), scarfs, hats, shoes in pairs, costume jewellery etc. Bagged clothing can be dropped into the school between 4-5pm daily from 25th April to 6th May or 9am to 11am on Saturday 7th May 2022.



Wicklow County Final Student Enterprise Winners

CCA staff and students are very proud of our excellent achievements, culminating in the winning of the Junior Category in the Wicklow County Final of the Student Enterprise Programme.

We had numerous Mini companies taking part in today’s final. In the Senior category Sam Given and Mohammad Amin Hamza were Runners up in the Senior Category. The judges were highly complimentary of their presentation and product. Well done Sam and Mohammad!

In the Junior category Abby Norman received a special commendation.

A huge congratulations to Quillan Byrne, John Turley and Sebastian Anton of Ornaments Galore who won the overall Junior Category and now go on to represent Wicklow in the All Ireland Final!!

Well done to the excellent students and our excellent, dynamic business department teachers who go the extra mile in supporting the students.

Junior Boys Football

Our Junior boys had a Wicklow schools championship match at home versus Avondale Community College on Friday. In a great team performance, the team prevailed to win in a comprehensive manner. Two goals in either half proved to be crucial with Joe Heatly and Ryan Clarke scoring one a piece in both halves. Well done to all players involved.

TY Dance:

On Friday, as part of the Creative Schools Initiative, TY students participated in a dance workshop with Jay Asolo. Students learned hip hop and street dance routines, while also learning about rhythm, timing, self expression, hip hop foundations and dance choreography.

Irish Chemistry Olympiad

Congratulations to 6th year student Jeremiah Scott, who recently participated in the Irish Chemistry Olympiad 2022 This was an online event, in which many LC chemistry students from across the country participated. Extensive knowledge of chemistry was required with applications to the real world. Well done Jeremiah!

Junior Camogie

Our Junior Camogie team played a match against St. Davids this week. The match was 13-aside. CCA, captained by Maeve Butler, were overall winners with a narrow victory of one point! Lucy Nagle and Aoibheann Keating were scorers on the day with excellent defence from Abi Hammond and Nessa Drumgoole. It was a great game, everyone had lots of fun and there was lots of laughter and smiles. It was lovely to see the teamwork on the pitch. Well done girls!
