Our first session of this year's Teaching & Learning Club took place on Wednesday 29th September and was hosted by our Guidance Counsellor, Ms. Dooley. The session focussed on the recent study skills seminars that were delivered to our 3rd, 5th and 6th Year students. Ms. Dooley took teachers through some of the methods that had been explored in the SuperGeneration workshop, in particular the POKER method. Teachers had the opportunity to examine the process of Pre-test/Overview/Keywords/Etch & Sketch/Review and how they might incorporate it into their own subject lessons. The session was driven by an awareness that teachers play an important role in helping to reinforce positive study habits by embedding them within their own classroom practice.
