Transition Year Gaisce
This week, the TY students started their programme for the year ahead. On Friday they completed the week with a wellbeing and bonding walk taking advantage of the lovely weather.
The students will in the early days of the programme be provided with information regarding The Gaisce Award. This award is a direct challenge set out by the President of Ireland to young people in order for them to challenge themselves, develop their confidence, meet new people and discover new opportunities. As part of CCA's Transition Year Programme, all TY students are expected to complete it. The Gaisce Award is divided into four challenge areas; personal skill, community involvement, physical skill and the Adventure Journey. We wish the students the best of luck on their Gaisce Journey and we look forward to seeing what activities they choose to take part in this year.
CCA's Evening Study Programme:
The excellent facility is now at capacity. The programme will provide students with a suitable atmosphere and environment to progress their studies resulting in a better quality of homework and a superior set of grades in examinations. The programme will start on Monday 11th September.
Student Council
Student Council nominations have been coming in this week as the election looms. Each year group has two students elected to the council. Nominees are currently busy canvassing for votes from their classmates. Best of luck to all in the upcoming elections!
Open Night
Planning is at an advanced stage for our annual Open Night on the 21st September where we showcase our fantastic facilities and provide an opportunity for prospective students and their families to meet our hard working staff and students.
