Science Week

This week we celebrated Science Week in CCA. The theme for Science Week according to SFI is "Human?". The TY Science Students were working hard the previous week researching this theme and creating the display for the Blue doors

In class activities included Methane Bubbles, Beat the Teacher and interesting videos and facts about AI shall be discussed with the appropriate age groups (e.g. A surgeon in London carried out a surgery in America via AI!).

Science Club had a demonstration in F02 during lunch time on Friday for students to come and watch/get involved.

TY Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Heartwarming success: 88 Shoeboxes Packed and Ready for TeamHope Appeal"

Our TY Community & Voluntary class extends sincere thanks to CCA students, parents & staff for their generous support and donations to the TeamHope Christmas Shoebox appeal. Your kind donations & the effort put in by our TY class resulted in 88 beautifully wrapped, packed, and sorted Christmas boxes ready to be delivered to children in need.

Please note that we have now finished the collection of items and shoeboxes.

The TeamHope Xmas Shoebox appeal is a cause close to our hearts, and the CCA TYs are proud to have contributed to this meaningful project.

U16 Boys Basketball

Hard luck to our 16 Boys today who lost out in their Quarter Final to a very strong Sandymount CS team. Stand out performers on the day were Rian Daye, Leighton Gahan and Michael Synnott.

TY News:

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, TY students took part in a hospitality workshop, with thanks to Conor from The Food School. During the workshop, students learned how to professionally carry plates, take food orders, carry drinks correctly, set up a fine-dining restaurant, organise a mis-en-place table and complete an order of service. The workshop finished with a restaurant service simulation, run by the students.

Senior Boys Football

Well done to our Senior Footballers who had a hard fought win away to Kildare Town Community School on a score line of 4-09 to 2-12. Special mention goes to our full back line of Oscar Durston, Denis Leacy & JJ Brady who were outstanding.

Junior Girls Football

Well done to the girls junior football team who topped their group after a convincing win against St Mary's yesterday. The girls played out of their skins from start to finish kicking an impressive 6-16. While it was a wonderful all round display a special mention must go to midfield duo Yasmin Bishop and Anna Doyle as well as Lily Turner and Lillian Kavnagh in defence. They now await the A Semi final after Christmas. Well done to all!
