Guitar Club

CCA Guitar Club will meet once a week during Thursday lunchtime, giving students an opportunity to learn about the instrument whether they are complete beginners or have been playing for years. The basics will be taught such as changing and tuning strings, how to read tablature and how to play basic chords & songs, but there will also be an opportunity for more advanced players to share their skills and to learn how to use software allowing them to record songs of their own. Beginner or advanced, acoustic or electric, rhythm or lead, all guitarists are welcome!

Students must bring their own guitar which can be left in G1 in the morning time and collected again at end of the school day.

Talent Show

CCA is thrilled to announce that tickets for SHOWSTOPPERS are now on sale! With 22 acts performing, over 60 students taking part, star judges and our biggest raffle yet...this is a night NOT to be missed! Tickets can be purchased from www.GR8events.ie/ShowStoppers.

1st Year Girls Football
The first year girls football team represented the school at a county blitz in Balinakil on Tuesday. The girls had a big win against St Kevin’s before losing out to a very strong Carnew side. They finished the day coming out as winners against St Mary’s in a very close contest. Some fantastic football on display from the girls. Well done to all involved.
Clothing Collection
CCA’s Parents Council are pleased to announce their annual clothing collection and are asking you to donate any unwanted clothing, curtains, sheets etc. in order to raise funds for upcoming events during the school year. This could be the perfect opportunity for you, your family and your friends to get rid of all that unwanted clutter in your wardrobes and shelves!! The final day for drop off is Saturday 11th March 9-10am.
Valentines Day
Transition Year students, Lynda Lucy Elliott, Amber Scully, Cillian Coffey, Shona Odlum, Alice Nolan & Rachel-Ann Harrop brought the love to Coláiste Chraobh Abhann for Valentine's this year.
In anticipation of Valentines day the school community had an opportunity to purchase a rose which the students delivered with a personalised handwritten note. It was a wonderful day filled with fun, some embarrassment and laughter. Happy Valentines day from all in CCA.
