Athletics
Well done to all our students who took part in the East Leinster Cross Country Championships held in Phoenix Park. Each student put in a great effort with Aoibhinn Keating (5KWT) Amber Scully (5AGY) and Zach Kavanagh (1JCN) qualifying for the Leinster Championships
Basketball
Hard luck to the first and second year basketball teams against St. David’s. Both teams played really well and have learned a lot from the games. The first year match was level throughout with exceptional performances from Meghan Taylor and Millie Dunne. I’m the 2nd year game Sophie Kavanagh and Ellen O’Neill were the stand out players. Well done to all of the girls involved. They will now go on to play CCM in two weeks time.
Art Trip
On Thursday this week the 5th year art class went on a Street Art walking tour around the Temple Bar area of Dublin. While discovering the unique and underground culture of the city they learned about street artists such as Subset, James Earley, Shane Sutton, Brutto and Maser.
In the afternoon they went to the Hugh Lane Gallery to visit the exhibition of Pop artist Andy Warhol. The exhibition includes more than 250 pieces by one of the most important and recognisable artists of the 20th century.
