Maths Week
Well done to our first year students and their Peer Mentors for the excellent work during Maths Week. Each tutor group produced their individual Maths Hats and they are proudly on display in reception.
U16 and U19 Boys Basketball
Well done to our U16 and U19 Boy’s Basketball teams today who both enjoyed wins over CBC Monkstown today. Our U16s won on a margin of 36-29, with an impressive 12 points each from Max Roche and Leighton Gahan. Our U19s boys had another excellent victory with a final score line of 45-27.There were standout performances all round, with very impressive shooting especially from Aharon Smith. Both teams are now through to the next round of the competition.
TY Work Experience
We would like to wish our Transition Year students the best of luck with their work experience which they undertook this week. Work experience is a very important aspect of our Transition Year programmes. Students get to try out careers that may interest them and get a taste of the working world before they enter it themselves. The students have chosen a wide range of areas to delve into and we look forward to reading their reports on their experiences.
Student Council
Our Student Council members were delighted to present a cheque to Noleen Redmond, National Secretary for Wicklow Meals on Wheels, following the recent non uniform fundraiser for charities in our community. Two charities are chosen for each of the non uniform days.
1st Year Student Led Assembly
Student led assembly by 1st year Class Captains on Monday 23rd October. Motivational statements, poem, thanks to peer mentors, tutors, SNA's, secretaries, care takers, the introduction of a positive comments box and a song were shared with the year group. Well done to all involved.
U19 Boys Badminton
Hard luck to our Under 19 Badminton team who lost against Wesley College this afternoon in a very close game.
Community Garda Talk
Our Community Gardai joined our 2nd year students yesterday and spoke about the role of the Gardaí, Halloween safety and the impact of our behaviour on ourselves and our community during the Halloween Season. We look forward to meeting them again to talk about Road Safety.
Girls Basketball.
Well done to the U16 basketball team that have topped their pool after a win against East Glendalough. The girls won 34-17 with Carla Amador Fernandez scoring 18 of CCAs points. Hard luck to the U19 basketball team that lost out to East Glendalough in a competitive game.
Pumpkin Carving Creations:
The peer mentor senior leadership team who support out 1st years throughout the year have displayed the annual pumpkin creations from the respective class groups. Well done to tje students. Thanks also to Ms Webster and Ms Miley for their support to the students.
Student of the Month Awards:
This special CCA initiative has been a focus of our schools approach to promoting the holistic development of each student. The students who received the awards have excelled in all areas of school life during the past month. Well done to award winners!
U15 Boys Soccer
Congratulations to our U15 Boys Soccer Team who had a 1-0 win over CCM today. A superb headed goal from Aaron Nolan gave us the win on the day. It was an excellent performance from all involved with a special mention to Jack Gummerson, Oscar Kelly and Man of the Match Ryan McDonald. Well done lads
