She also placed 2nd and 4th in the individual competition for both the Preliminary and Novice classes. Well done !!!

Prefect Team:

CCA’s prefect team were today presented with their badges at an extended assembly ceremony.

Being elected as a student leader is a very significant occasion. These students represent the student body in the school and will lead by example. They are role models who exhibit behaviour that should be aspired towards by all students. They make our school values a lived reality. Those values of respect, excellence in education, equality, care and community are central to making CCA the wonderful learning organisation it is. Our student leadership team demonstrate these values in their daily actions in school, in their attitude and in their behaviour. This helps to create a positive culture in our school, where everyone can achieve their potential in a caring environment, where everyone feels valued and respected, and where equality permeates school life.

Katie Taylor Interview

On Tuesday 26th Oisin Reynolds and David Mackey had the opportunity to attend the launch press conference for Katie Taylor vs Chantelle Cameron 2. The lads were given the opportunity to watch the press conference and when it had concluded they were able to interview the two fighters and the promoters. David interviewed Chantelle Cameron and Oisin interviewer Eddie Hearn and Katie Taylor. In another interview Katie was full of praise for Oisin saying he was a gentleman and that he will go very far in life. The lads both gained valuable experience at this event.

Roots 4 Learning Week

This week is Roots4Learning Week. The aim of the week is to open up the conversation around studying, goal setting and working for your future success. Tutors, Year Heads or Subject Teachers will take 5minutes today to talk to our students about the ideal study environment providing them with hints, tips and tricks that have worked for them and may be of benefit for our students and also the various supports that are available to them within the school. We offer so much to our students on a day-to-day basis that reminding of all the various supports is important.

  • Junior Cert study skills program
  • Study Skills seminars
  • Careers and guidance classes
  • In class support from subject teachers on organisation, time management,
  • After school study

Higher Options Visit

6th Year students enjoyed an action packed day at the Higher Options and World Skills events in the RDS on Friday 22nd. They got the opportunity to speak with 3rd level colleges across Ireland, the UK and Europe and attend career talks on a wide range of topics. Huge thanks to our Guidance Dept.

TY News:

Many thanks to Road Safety Authority Ireland who brought their road safety roadshow and shuttle bus to the school today. TY students learned about road safety, got to test their skills on the road using both motorbike and car simulators and built their road safety awareness.

Student of the Month Awards:

This special CCA initiative has been a focus of our schools approach to promoting the holistic development of each student. The students who received the awards have excelled in all areas of school life during the past month. Well done to award winners!
