Parents' Association Voluntary Contribution
Colaiste Chraobh Abhann Parents' Association introduced an annual voluntary contribution scheme in 2007-2008. This scheme was adopted following extensive debate within the council, feedback from parents and is supported by the school’s Board of Management.
While the Department of Education and Skills provides funding for the normal running costs of the school, this does not extend to extra curricular activities. It is recognised that it is these additional facilities, events and activities that make a difference to our children’s experience of school. Typically, the Parents' Council raises over €20,000 annually to fund items such as sports equipment (including goalposts, football jerseys and tennis racquets), supporting after school clubs, subsidising activities and transport, staging the school musical at The Mermaid, providing Literary prizes and Library books.
The Council request an annual contribution of €120 per family.
Families may wish to:
- make a larger contribution
- make a smaller contribution if unable to pay the full contribution
All contributions will be gratefully received and acknowledged.
